Year 1

Introduction to Emergency Medicine: informal clinical observerships arranged with individual consultants. These are generally 4 hour shifts where the students observe the interactions between the consultants and patients as well as assist in performing technical skills. If a student has had a number of clinical observerships, the consultant may, at their own discretion, allow the student to start seeing patients independently, to be reviewed with the consultant after the history is taken.

Introduction to principles of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine: 1-week course taught jointly by Faculty in Divisions of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
