It is with much enthusiasm that I want to announce for those that may not know that there has been a changing of the guard for our program.
Dr. Christine Richardson has assumed the position of Program Director July 1 2010. She has been an invaluable member of the squad, and our Division in the role of Assistant PD for the last few years, and takes the reins with lots of great ideas.
Please welcome Dr Grant Coome as our new Assistant PD, also with vim and vigor, and I am so excited for our program.
If you have any promising young students or residents with questions, or to put them on our "radar", please let any of us know,
Thank you for the wonderful support you have given to the residents, myself and the enrichment of our CCFPEM program over the years. It is greatly appreciated.

CCFP-EM Research Day 2009 |
|
Friday, 03 April 2009 |
|
The CCFP-EM residents presented their research findings at the Division of Emergency Medicine's annual Resident Research Day. The presentations from both groups this year were again outstanding and was clearly the result of many hours or hard work and perseverance. A total of 11 posters
and 8 oral presentations were heard, including 10 from the CCFP-EM group, and covered many areas of
emergency medicine practice and research interest.
A big thanks goes out to all the faculty who reviewed
the abstracts and ranked them for oral and poster presentations, the
supervisors who provided encouragement and expert guidance through the
many projects, the judges. The residents were particularly fond of Dr. Dukelow's soccer anology (pictured above) to keep them on time). A special thanks goes to our Research
Program Manager, Shelley McLeod (left) who worked with all of the residents to
guide them through their research and presentations.
The winners of this years Resident Research Day were: Oral Presentation:
Matt Shaw: "Low probability ventilation-perfusion scans in the ED: The frequency and results of follow-up Doppler venous ultrasonography."
Poster Presentation:
Sid Sahay: "Emergency department use of Rh immune prophylaxis in early pregnancy."
Congratualtions to all those involved on another successful research day! |
